| I have people ask me all the time if I have "POCKET PUGGLES" or "MINI PUGGLES " or "TOY PUGGLES" I really have a problem with this term Since there is no 'standard' for mini or pocket or toy puggles, I never know how to answer that question. The term supposedly came from Queen Elizabeth. She was reported to have a line of beagles that could fit in a saddle bag or 'pocket bag' as it was called. (They are now extinct) Hence the term 'pocket' came into being. Trouble is there are lots of different sizes of saddle bags! Being an experienced horse "lover, owner, breeder, trail rider, enthusiast, well you get the picture... I have saddle bags that will hold:
The ads I see are all over the map and some estimate the adult size as almost 20 pounds. Your guess is as good as mine! Most the pictures I see all look like 'regular' puggles to me. What I do on my website is list the parents weight. I probably have some of the smallest, nicest beagles around. I've also been raising them longer than most, I didn't just jump on the band wagon when they got crazy popular. I also have regular sized beagles. Please let me know what you consider a 'pocket puggle'. It will really help me help you, and it will really help me to understand what people consider a pocket puggle.
